Why Goldens
The Retriever Inn was intentionally designed around Golden Retrievers, their gentle temperament, easygoing nature, and social style.

As a small, working farm and boutique boarding retreat, consistency is essential. Focusing on one familiar breed allows me to create a peaceful, predictable environment where dogs can settle easily, routines remain calm, and individualized care is never compromised.

This focus isn’t about exclusion. I love all dogs. Goldens are simply the breed that shaped this place and the one this environment was thoughtfully created to support. For that reason, the Inn is designed first and foremost for Golden Retrievers. On a limited, case-by-case basis, Golden-adjacent dogs with similar size and temperament may be considered, always with the goal of preserving the calm, Golden-centered atmosphere that defines life at the Inn.
